Happy New Year!

I know that I’m a week and a half late but I’m just getting my bearings after spending the end of 2015 celebrating my daughter’s 9th birthday, hosting our good friends who stayed with us for their last week in London before their move back to the US and spending the last 10 days of the year in London and Amsterdam with my mom who came to visit us for the holidays.

With so much going on I can’t say that I spent a lot of time on 2015 reflection and 2016 planning, but I do have an ever evolving outline for the next 3-5 years that I revisit periodically throughout the year with lists of: places to travel, books to read, things to learn and personal and professional goals to accomplish.  I am targeting 2016 for a few of these items and I will share them throughout the year.

Every year I come up with a different short motivational quote that I use as my email signature throughout the year, similar to Nike’s “Just Do It!”.  This year’s quote is “Chase your dreams in 2016!”.

How do you approach the new year? Do you make a list of things that you resolve to start, stop or do better? Do you make a vision board? Or do you just take it as it comes?

This may not seem like a lofty goal to you young folks, but this year I plan to master the iPad and the apps that interest or benefit me and to pay off my very last debt. It is also my goal to go on two vacations in 2016.

My mantra for this year happens to be something I read in a children’s book (of all places) but works for anyone who applies it. I also ordered a plaque with the same quote. It is “Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

Happy new year to you too!

That’s awesome! You deserve to experience all of the joy and personal growth that comes with travel and becoming better acquainted with technology will open new doors as well.
